Third time in a row to wake up in a different place...the kids are doing amazingly well for that, for which I'm extremely grateful.
Once everyone was ready to go we went to meet up with the owner of a small gluten-making business. They weren't making anything, since it was Friday, but he took us through his process (sorry, no pictures!) I'm really looking forward to trying some of his "secrets" to get the perfect gluten texture. There are so many things he does that normal gluten recipes don't include.
Thankfully Ethan fell asleep in the car so he didn't realize how long of a drive it was to get to our next stop. Two hours later we got to the top of McKenzie Pass. The lava flows were pretty cool to see!

We stopped for a yummy pizza meal in Sisters. It's definitely a tourist/resort town, but the perks are some great hole-in-the-wall restaurants.
But the highlight of the kids' day wasn't any of this. The evening spent playing outdoors in Grandma Bigelow's dirt and front yard sprinkler was just what they needed.
